Mr. Wenqi Du, a Ph.D. student of Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, recently won Arup Research Prize 2011. The Arup Research Prize, funded by Ove Arup & Partners Hong Kong Ltd, awards undergraduate or postgraduate students to promote creativity and high standards of technology. Mr. Du's research, supervised by Prof. Gang Wang, aims at developing guidelines for seismic design of buildings in Hong Kong. The research result is expected to bring great benefit to the local building industry.
