Admisson

From the 2025-26 academic year, we will adopt a dual-track admission framework. Under the 4-year academic program structure, applicants can be admitted to our Department in one of the following ways:

1. Direct admission into the first year through department-based admission.

2. Initial admission to the School of Engineering via school-based admission, followed by the opportunity to choose their major in Civil Engineering no later than the end of the first year. 

        

    

Note:

Local secondary students may also apply admission to our Department through School Nominations Direct Admission Scheme (SNDAS), a sub-scheme of JUPAS introduced by the Education Bureau with the aim of recognising the talent of local secondary students that could not be fully assessed by the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education (HKDSE) Examination.

Our Admission Requirements for SNDAS:

Mandatory
  1. Achievement with award in one STEM related competition / activity, locally or internationally OR Non-academic achievement in the areas of creativity, leadership, sports, music and cultural activities
  2. Predicted HKDSE Level 3 or above in English, or equivalent

Preferred
  1. Predicted Level 5 or above in 2 subjects (Physics/ Chemistry/ Mathematics/ M1/ M2) of HKDSE Examination, or equivalent

Optional
  1. Top 20% school ranking in Secondary 6
