2009 President's Cup

Ooi Ghee Leng and Lau Yun Man, supervised under Professor Wang Yu-Hsing, have been awarded the 2009 President's Cup Winner with their project entitled "Examining the Mechanisms of Pile Set-up by the DEM Simulations and a Cost Reduction in the Pile Design". The HKUST President's Cup was launched in the year 2002 as an annual event for undergraduate students to compete based on outstanding achievements in research and innovation. Ooi Ghee Leng and Lau Yun Man are the second team to win the Cup representing the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering since year 2003. The Award comprises of a cup, certificates for the supervisor and participants, and a cash prize of HKD$10,000.
