HKSTAM2026 Best Student Presentation Award

Civil and Environmental Engineering (CIVL) PhD student MA Yibo, an HKPFS awardee, received a Best Student Presentation Award at the 29th Annual Conference of the Hong Kong Society of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics (HKSTAM), held in Hong Kong SAR, China, on April 18, 2026, for his presentation entitled “Quantifying the Role of Thermoelectric Magnetohydrodynamic Process in Keyhole Pore Formation during Laser Powder Bed Fusion.” The presentation was co-authored by his supervisor, Prof. ZHAO Jidong, Professor of Computational Geomechanics in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, and former postdoctoral fellow Dr. Yu Tao.
