Prof Guanghao Chen has won the Global Grand Honor Award for Project Innovation Awards (PIA)

We are pleased to announce that the research team led by Prof Guanghao Chen of the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, has won the Global Grand Honor Award for Project Innovation Awards (PIA) in the category of Applied Research by the International Water Association (IWA). The award will be presented at the IWA World Water Congress and Exhibition in Busan, Korea on 19 September, 2012. His team developed innovative supply system and sewage treatment technology, together with the Hong Kong Airport Authority, the Water Supplies Department, the Drainage Services Department, the University of Cape Town in South Africa and the Delft University of Technology in the Netherlands. The global grand PIA Awards, established in 2006, recognizing innovation and excellence in water engineering projects worldwide. The winners are selected from the regional awardees of North American, Europe & West Asia, East Asia, and Asia Pacific regions.
