HKUST Future Civil Fellowship & Study Tour for Elite Students to Visit CIVL@HKUST
We are pleased to invite application for 2016 Study Tour for Elite Students Visiting Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering of HKUST and HKUST Future Civil Fellowship.
The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at HKUST is proudly comprised of a world-class faculty and state-of-the-art laboratory facilities on a beautiful sea-view campus. This year marks the 25th anniversary of the department. Over a brief history of 25 years, the Department has grown to be a major driving force behind highly innovative research, inspiring education and comprehensive professional services in civil engineering with both local and global impacts. The achievements of our Department are well evidenced by its top worldwide rankings in related fields.
We are keen to invite high-caliber, motivated, ambitious students to join the Department to work with our excellent faculty members on various interesting research projects that can shape and impact the future civil and environmental engineering. It is our great pleasure to announce the 2016 Study Tour for Elite Students from around world to visit our department and campus in late August 2016 and to interact with our faculty members over a two-day stay at HKUST.
Each successful candidate will be awarded a prestigious HKUST Future Civil Fellow certificate, and subsidy for his/her trip to Hong Kong (up to HK$3000). The department will further cover the accommodation for all fellows over the two-day study tour. The Study Tour aims to attract potential candidates to apply for the upcoming round Hong Kong PhD Fellowship Scheme (HKPFS) at HKUST. All candidates will have a chance to meet with faculty members as their potential supervisors for their PhD studies, and to prepare for the HKPFS application.
1. Eligibility & Quotation
Elite students either in his/her penultimate year of undergraduate or master study from top institutes with demonstrated academic excellence with great research and leadership potential supported by scanned copies of transcripts and/or award certificates. The Department will select a maximum of 30 fellows to attend the 2016 Study Tour.
2. (Tentative) Important dates
15 June 2016: Deadline for application
22 June 2016: Release of selection outcome for the Study Tour
24 June 2016: Invitation Letter for successful candidates
26-27 August 2016: 2016 Study Tour to be held at HKUST Campus
