Prof. Ghidaoui Elected IAHR Vice-President for Asia and the Pacific

Prof. Mohamed Ghidaoui, the Chinese Estates Professor of Engineering and Chair Professor in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, has been elected Vice-President for Asia and the Pacific of the International Association for Hydro-Environmental Engineering and Research (IAHR), effective from September, 2023 link

Founded in 1935, the IAHR is a global organization composed of engineers and water specialists from across the world endeavoring in the hydro-environmental sciences and engineering across a broad range of fields from (eco-)hydraulics, water resources development and management, to hydro-informatics and  machinery. The IAHR is directly involved in the advancement and exchange of knowledge through

organizing workshops, seminars and conferences, supporting countless research and application activities and events, as well as disseminating a range of publications, including its flagship journal— Journal of Hydraulic Research—of which Prof. Ghidaoui is currently Editor-in-Chief.

As one of IAHR’s three new Vice-Presidents (the other two being the Vice Presidents for the Americas and for Europe), Prof. Ghidaoui will work closely with IAHR members to advance the organization’s global reach and impact.
