HKUST Postgraduate Students Won the Championship in IDEERS 2013

The postgraduate team from HKUST, with members Chun Hang Leung (team leader), Cong Lu, Chaoyi Wang and Pengfei Wang, has won the First Prize in the Introducing and Demonstrating Earthquake Engineering Research in Schools (IDEERS) competition (抗震盃–地震工程模型國際競賽), held at the National Center for Research on Earthquake Engineering (NCREE), Taipei Taiwan, during 13-15 September 2013. 

This international programme was jointly organised by the National Applied Research Laboratories (NARL), the National Center for Research on Earthquake Engineering (NCREE), the National Science and Technology Center for Disaster Reduction (NCDR), Taiwan, and the British Council and the Asia-Pacific Network of Centers for Earthquake Engineering Research (ANCER). A total of 17 postgraduate and more than 40 undergraduate student teams from Taiwan and all around the world have taken part in this activity. The HKUST postgraduate team has won the championship of Postgraduate Division (研究生組冠軍) and also the Best Presentation Award Third Prize in this international competition.
