HKUST and MTR Establish Joint Research Laboratory for Innovative Solutions to Enhance Public Convenience

HKUST has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the MTR Corporation and MTR Academy on establishing the HKUST-MTR Joint Research Laboratory. This is the first time that MTR has signed such an MoU with a higher institution. Under the memorandum, MTR and HKUST’s GREAT Smart Cities Institute will establish a joint research facility over the coming three years, with a view to promoting the application of innovative technology in railway and other services, with particular focuses on smart community and smart mobility.
