Dr. Liu Yang Wins First Prize at EC3 2023 Thesis-in-3 Competition

Dr. Liu YANG, Postdoctoral Fellow in Prof. Jack C.P. Cheng’s research group, has won first prize in the EC3 2023 Three Minute Thesis Competition. The event was organized by the European Council on Computing in Construction in Crete, Greece on July 10–12, 2023. Dr. Yang and Prof. Cheng’s research has been acknowledged as a significant step forward in the development of innovative solutions for the construction industry.

The EC3 2023 conference is the premier European conference for information, communication, and technological research, innovation, and policy for the construction sector in Europe. It is a biennial meeting that brings together researchers, practitioners, and construction industry professionals from around Europe to meet and share information about the latest developments in all aspects related to computing in construction. The conference aims to establish an active dialogue on the challenges in the field of computing in construction and provide a forum to present the latest advances in research and professional practice in this domain.

Dr. Yang and Prof. Cheng’s research was highly regarded by the judges, who called the presentation "clear, concise and engaging … effectively communicating the significance of their research to a wide audience”.
