Founded 30 years ago, HKUST is a research-intensive University dedicated to the advancement of learning and knowledge through teaching and research, particularly in its targeted fields of pursuit and at the postgraduate level, as well as to assist in the economic and social development of Hong Kong. The University has launched a global search to attract accomplished scholars in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) and their research teams to join the vibrant and dynamic faculty of the School of Engineering and School of Science. Outstanding faculty joining the University will be considered for nomination of the Global STEM Professorship Scheme sponsored by the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. Awardee will be offered a highly competitive package to establish his/her research program in Hong Kong, including setup of first-rate laboratories and recruitment of research support personnel.


Applicants should have an outstanding record of research accomplishments, consistent with an appointment as Associate Professor or Full Professor with tenure. In addition to leading a vigorous research program, he/she should have proven leadership abilities in both teaching and collaborative research programs. Qualified individuals should also have a broad appreciation of the research and educational opportunities in his / her own disciplines. Experts in Civil and Environmental Engineering are welcome to send in applications.
