About the Award

To commemorate the 35th Anniversary of The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST), the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering (CIVL), jointly with the Civil and Environmental Engineering Alumni Association (CEEAA), has established the Outstanding Alumni Awards.

The Awards aim to recognize and honor distinguished alumni who have demonstrated outstanding professional or academic achievements, as well as leadership and significant contributions to the alumni community, the profession, and society at large beyond the civil engineering profession, with greater emphasis placed on societal and economic impact. Through this initiative, the Department seeks to celebrate the impact of CIVL alumni, strengthen alumni engagement, and inspire future generations of engineers and scholars.

• Outstanding Young Alumni Award (for candidates aged 35 or below by 1 January 2026)

2026 Award Recipients

Following a rigorous selection process led by the esteemed Judging Panel of distinguished faculty and senior leaders, the Department is proud to honor the following five distinguished alumni as recipients of the HKUST CIVL Outstanding Alumni Awards 2026:

The awardees exemplify the excellence, leadership and spirit of service that define the CIVL community. Through their achievements in academia, industry and public service, they have made significant contributions to the engineering profession and society, while serving as an inspiration to current students and future generations of CIVL graduates.  

The Awards were formally presented at the Department’s 35th Anniversary Dinner on 22 October 2026, where the achievements and contributions of the awardees were celebrated with the CIVL community.
