Prof J S Kuang and colleagues win Grand Structural Excellence Award

Professor J S Kuang and his co-workers Professors Terry Y P Yuen and B S M Ali with the Bursa Orhangazi University of Turkey won the Grand Award – R&D Award of Structural Excellence Award 2017 by the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers Structural Division and the Institution of Structural Engineers (JSD), acknowledging their paper ‘Assessing the effect of bi-directional loading on nonlinear static and dynamic behaviour of masonry-infilled frames with openings’ in Bulletin of Earthquake Engineering as one of the top papers in structural/seismic engineering. The award will be presented at the Structural Excellence Award 2017 ceremony, Annual General Meeting of JSD to be held on 12 May 2017.
