Prof Gang Wang Receives Mao Yisheng Youth Award in Soil Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering

Chinese Institution of Soil Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering recently announced that Prof. Gang Wang has won 2018 Mao Yisheng Youth Award for his achievement in geotechnical earthquake engineering and soil dynamics. This award, given once every two years, recognizes individuals under the age 45 who have made significant contributions in soil mechanics and geotechnical engineering. It is the nation's most recognized and most prestigious award in the field.

The award ceremony was held in Chengdu on 6 July 2019. Vice President of Chinese Academy of Engineering, Huawu He, presented the award to recipients. Since its establishment in 1993, 18 Grand Prizes and 34 Youth Awards were conferred. Including previous recipients our own Professors Charles Ng (2002) and Limin Zhang (2008), now CIVL boasts most winners on the list.
