ASCE ISG won the ASCE Region 10 Governors Award 2008

The American Society of Civil Engineers International Student Group, Department of Civil Engineering at HKUST (abbreviated as ASCEISG, HKUSTCE) has been awarded the ASCE Region 10 Governors Awards again in 2008. The award was given by the ASCE Headquarters. A plaque acknowledging our International Student Group's achievement is enclosed.

The ASCE Region 10 Governors Award was established to praise the most outstanding International Student Group outside America. The award was given according to the performance of the student group. In this year, our activities such as Practitioner Mentorship Program (PMP), Academic Talks and Career Series were highly appreciated by the Headquarters of the ASCE.

It is a remarkable time because we achieve this honor consecutively in 2007 and 2008. I would like to take this opportunity to express our sincere thanks to all of our members. Without their keen support, we cannot become an outstanding Student Group like now and attain his recognizable achievement.

The objective of our society is to help our members to explore themselves in the civil engineering field in a more practical way. In order to attain our goals, we provide a lot of opportunities to our members such as meeting and sharing with practicing engineers through PMP, acknowledging latest information about civil engineering field through Academic Talks and helping them to equip themselves to face the challenge from their career through Career Series.

In the future, we promise we will keep serving our fellow members and contribute our enthusiasm to the international student group.
