Faculty Positions in Sustainable Energy and Environment

In support of the University’s commitment to become a global leader in sustainability education and research, the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering seeks to fill several faculty positions covering the broad areas of sustainable energy and environment.  Research fields of interest include, but are not limited to: environment-friendly, energy-efficient and resilient civil systems; sustainable energy infrastructure; renewable energy storage and harvesting systems; sustainable treatment technology for water/wastewater/solid; sustainable environmental technology (bio, nano, valorization, etc.); and sustainable environment assessment and management.

We invite applications for substantiation-track faculty positions at the Assistant/Associate Professor rank.  Appointment at the Professor rank may also be considered for candidates with outstanding academic credentials and international recognition.

Applicants must have a PhD degree in civil or environmental engineering or a related discipline, preferably holding a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or environmental engineering.  The appointees are expected to demonstrate strong potential for effective teaching and promising research, and to complement the Department’s existing strengths in advanced experimental, numerical and information technologies for the development of sustainable energy and environment.

Salary is highly competitive and will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits including medical and dental benefits, annual leave and housing benefits will be provided where applicable. Initial appointment at Assistant/Associate Professor rank will normally be made on a 3-year contract, renewable subject to mutual agreement. A gratuity will be payable upon successful completion of contract. Appointment at Professor rank will be on substantive basis.
