Hands-on Internship Experience for Career Preparation

We understand the importance of internships in preparing our students for successful careers. Therefore, internship training is integral to our curricula and all Year 3 students in our programs will have the opportunity to receive a minimum of six weeks of on-the-job training during the Summer term.

Students can either seek departmental nominations or find their own summer internship placements. This hands-on experience allows them to get a head start on building their professional network and carving out their career path while still pursuing their university studies.

Through internships, we aim to offer our students opportunities to:

• Gain first-hand exposure to the inner workings of civil engineering consulting firms, contractors, developers, or government departments
• Apply the theories and concepts learned in the classroom to practical, on-the-job situations
• Expand their knowledge and skills within a professional work environment
• Develop a deeper understanding of potential career paths in civil engineering

Beijing Internship

A two-month summer training in Beijing Mainland China organized by the Children & Youth Science Center of the China Association for Science and Technology is held in mid of June to August every summer.
